Over the course of the past 15 years John B has become one of the most eclectic, unique and respected artists in electronic music. His ability to stretch the elastic of drum & bass over the past decade has brought him together with an array of figureheads from all corners of the scene from Metalheadz boss Goldie, to legendary global DJ Paul Oakenfold. Defying categorisation, John’s catalogue straddles electro, punk rock, trance, latin, techno and Drum & Bass.  Now as we enter 2012 he’s ready to drop his brand new album ‘Light Speed’, a full-force electro/trance D&B hybrid of truly epic proportions. Featuring collaborations with an array of superb vocalists ‘Light Speed’ is a prime example of an artist not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve and follow his musical ideals, and with one of the busiest DJ schedules in the business it seems the rest of the world would agree.

“ALBUM OF THE MONTH” - MIXMAG

“John B personifies the more leftfield, zany side of d&b. Sporting crazy hairdos and ‘80s electronica-inspired eye-makeup (water/sweatproof we hope!), his gigs have become a favourite on the trans-European and worldwide DJing circuit, not least this year, where his bookings list has skyrocketed as a result of wildfire word-of-mouth recommendations on the hedonistic circuit, as well as straight d&b nights.” - DJ MAG

“Back in the early noughties, when mad-haired drum’n’bass eccentric John B first started cross-pollinating 170bpm rhythms with bubbling trance and electropop melodies, he was a man out on his own, carving himself a lonesome niche and operating in a sub-genre with a population of one. History, however, has utterly vindicated him: glossy, fist-pumping hooks and bombastic neon synths are now as big a part of D’n’B as Amen breaks and planet-sized drops.

For his ninth (ninth!) album, he’s chosen to seize the moment and show the electro-step dilettantes exactly how it’s done. Light Speed is awash with rippling robot basslines and stadium-ready pop hooks  – it’s basically the Drive soundtrack with a rocket up its arse. If it’s stylish subtlety that you’re after, look elsewhere – but if you’re merely after a suitably bananas soundtrack to The Maddest Weekend Ever, John’s got what you need.” - DJ MAG
