Hi everyone! Another TIMELINES SPECIAL podcast for you here.
Big thanks to one of our long time listeners Nikita for letting me know that this episode has been missing from the archives & sending over his recording it of, so I thought it was a good one to re-upload as part of the retro theme currently. Hopefully it’s not one of the older ones that soundcloud flags and takes down…
This is a recording from one of the monthly guest slots I did back around 2004-2006-ish for DJ Simon’s Redux show on XM radio, where I was one of the guest DJs on rotation there alongside I think Tommy Sunshine and Larry Tee etc (good company right!?). A fun time, peak electroclash, and I was mixing up 4/4 stuff with my 80/electro influenced stuff for those radio shows – though my live sets around then were still all pretty much dnb speed stuff apart from dropping in a couple of 4/4 tracks mid-set so I could come back with some heavy Dnb after!
The photo is from WODNB in Miami in 2006 I think too! Same time this was recorded.
Seems a bit strange to be suddenly all in action with more podcasts and promotional stuff, which was meant to help generate some much-needed gigs in the diary – which is obviously out of the question now!!
I’m currently having a think about how I can move forward and try to survive though this extended period without being able to earn a living from performing live – but in the meantime will try to keep spirits up & get more podcasts out and hopefully make some more music if I can get into the right frame of mind!

The first of a special series of TIMELINES Podcasts featuring older previously unheard DJ sets of mine from the vaults.
This one is a rip of the audio from a full video set I found on my hard drive a long time ago and saved for this project. I was originally sent it by someone from the Databass team who organised the party and actually live-streamed it way back in 2001. Talk about being ahead of the curve technologically there! Amazing.
The video is up on my YouTube, IGTV & Facebook – which is definitely worth a watch just to see the vibe inside an amazing DNB night in LA back in 2001 – but I thought you guys would appreciate being able to listen to the set on the podcast too so here it is…

Previously I’ve played more niche Italo Disco stuff at sun & bass for my ‘alternative’ sets so I thought it would be good to switch it up and not duplicate what I’d done previously – so this time I decided to go all out megahits from the 80s & 90s for a proper beach party vibe, then work in some of the D&B remixes of 80s stuff I’ve amassed over the years to bring the energy up at the end!
Words can’t describe how much fun it was and how happy I was with how it went! This was my first day at S&B this year and what a great start to the week!
