Hyped to announce my DJ set on a Klingon Warbird at warp factor 9.

Just done a basic coffee bean taste test now that

Just done a basic coffee bean taste test now that I’ve got used to my new grinder & it’s confirmed what I’d always thought - I am a coffee pleb lol.

Never seemed to really like THE BEST ESPRESSO IN TOWN whenever I’ve tried nice coffees in proper places that do it right, espressos are too strong, americanos too weak and FKN HOT AS THE SUN, I always like how they make you black coffee in Italy and Germany/switzerland - the kinda ‘Lungo’ or ‘Cafe Creme’ - and I’ve always used my gaggia classic to make something approaching a lungo, probably way too long - but it always comes out nice and smooth and how I like it. 16g beans. Grind on about 20 setting and run for about 30s to get a decent sized cup - but a ratio most coffee nerds would probably frown on haha.

Anyway I bought some nice local freshly roasted beans to try - and the taste is similar to obviously good coffee I’ve had in cafes before but just not my vibe. Wasn’t into that (even though I know it’s good stuff, just not to my taste) and same with other more expensive but not freshly roasted (Grind & Monmouth).

Tesco Italian is my favourite followed by lavazza Oro currently. Will try other lavazza beans next to compare - obviously had pre ground of all these before - but that really doesn’t compare - the old Tesco house blend pre ground tastes like cardboard in comparison now - it’s mad.

Anyway just thought I’d share my last 20 mins findings of not particularly scientific research. Think I need to try more darker roasts as it seems that’s what I like - the lighter ones aren’t my vibe.

Very very pleased with my grinder and moving from pre ground coffee to beans and manually grinding has improved my daily coffee bazilions. Glad I stuck with my existing machine and just got it serviced rather than buying some crazy expensive replacement - especially when I have such pedestrian tastes lol. 😂

Just done a basic coffee bean taste test now that I’ve got used to my new grinder & it’s confirmed what I’d always thought - I am a coffee pleb lol.
