John B Reimagines the Iconic <\/strong>Halo<\/strong><\/em> Theme in His Latest Drum & Bass Anthem<\/strong><\/p>\n

Internationally acclaimed Drum & Bass producer and DJ John B<\/strong> unveils his next epic single: a powerful and uplifting reimagining of the legendary Halo<\/em> theme. Set for release on 12 June<\/strong> via his Beta Recordings<\/strong> imprint, Halo <\/em>transforms one of the most iconic video game soundtracks of all time into a cinematic, adrenaline-fueled Drum & Bass masterpiece.<\/p>\n

Originally composed by Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori<\/strong> for the groundbreaking 2001 video game Halo: Combat Evolved<\/em>, the original theme is instantly recognisable for its haunting Gregorian-style choir, powerful orchestration, and otherworldly atmosphere. With this new DNB version, John B brings the theme into 2025 with driving two-step drums, reese basslines, soaring synths, and massive cinematic energy – while preserving the epic emotional weight of the original.<\/p>\n

Staying true to the spirit of the source material, John B recreated every element from scratch<\/strong>, using authentic-sounding orchestral textures, layered choirs, and modern synths \u2014 all performed and produced without using any direct samples from the original. The result is a respectful, high-octane tribute that blends nostalgia with forward-thinking sound design, delivering a track equally at home in a DJ set or on a gaming playlist.<\/p>\n

Halo <\/em>lands as John B enters one of the busiest and most exciting phases of his career to date. Alongside a packed international DJ schedule – with upcoming appearances at TwitchCon Rotterdam<\/strong>, Newquay<\/strong>, Tallinn<\/strong>, and COAL Festival<\/strong> in the Czech Republic – John is also making his scoring debut, having recently signed on to create the soundtrack for his first feature film<\/strong>, as well as composing original music for a video game project.<\/strong><\/p>\n
